Techno-aesthetics and the Externalisation of personal Identity
Key Note
- Techno-aesthetics. Homo sapiens demonstrates since its origin a tendency to externalize,
that is to technicalize, its adaptive practices. This process also concerns its sensitivity
(aisthesis, in ancient Greek), which is prolonged in technical artifacts; - Externalization of the self. The relevance of a techno-aesthetics for the individuation
processes is clearly visible in the mirror experience (as interpreted by Lacan); - Narrative identity. A similar argument can be pointed out also for the narrative identity as studied by Ricoeur;
- The last step in this sequence is the idea of an audiovisual identity that I will discuss with some examples.
