Valentina Berthelon, born 1977 in Santiago de Chile, is an audio-visual artist based in Berlin. She has always been interested in working in the intersection between visual arts, music, science, and technology. Valentina began her Art studies in 1996 at the University of Chile and in 1998 she moved to México City, where she specialized in Multimedia Art at the National Art Center. She creates video installations that evoke different forces of nature in relation to human body and perception. In her works, sound and images are mutually constitutive rather than merely coexisting. One of her main projects is a collaboration with German musician Tobias Freund called Recent Arts. They bring together experimental music and visual arts to create deep and unique audio-visual experiences for the audience.
